Finance and Administration Manager
Amman, Jordan | Full-time | Competitive salary
Help build the financial controls, systems and administrative infrastructure supporting the international growth of Stratum Global Risk.
Build the foundations for our next stage of growth
Stratum is seeking a capable and ambitious Finance and Administration Manager to join our team in Amman. This is a hands-on position requiring sound financial knowledge, exceptional organisation and the willingness to take ownership of both financial and administrative responsibilities.
The successful candidate will oversee our day-to-day financial processes while ensuring that company records, contracts, personnel documentation, compliance requirements and administrative systems remain accurate, organised and up to date. This position reports functionally to the Chief Financial Officer and works closely with the CEO, Chief People Officer and wider leadership team.
About Stratum
Stratum is a global travel risk management, assistance and crisis response company. From our Operations Centre in Amman, we support organisations and travellers across the Middle East and internationally through travel risk intelligence, 24-hour assistance, protective services, crisis response, safety training and specialist programmes. As Stratum expands its operations across Jordan, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, we are building the financial and administrative systems needed to support responsible international growth.
The role
The Finance and Administration Manager will be responsible for the effective operation of the company’s daily finance and administration functions. This is a genuinely hybrid role. It is not limited to accounting, and administration is not a secondary part of the position. The successful candidate must be equally comfortable preparing financial information, following up invoices, maintaining company records, organising employee documentation, tracking compliance deadlines and improving internal processes.
Financial responsibilities
The Finance and Administration Manager will:
Maintain accurate and timely financial records and supporting documentation.
Manage client invoicing, accounts receivable and payment follow-up.
Coordinate supplier payments, staff expenses and payroll administration.
Prepare management accounts, cash-flow reports, budgets and financial summaries.
Monitor expenditure and support forecasting and cost control.
Maintain clear approval processes, financial controls and audit trails.
Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, banks and tax advisers.
Support the CFO with group reporting, financial planning and monthly management information.
Help establish consistent financial processes across Stratum’s different entities and operating locations.
Maintain organised supporting records for audit, tax and regulatory purposes.
Administrative responsibilities
The role will also include responsibility for:
Maintaining organised company, employee, client and supplier records.
Managing contracts, insurance documents, licences and renewal schedules.
Maintaining effective digital filing and document-control systems.
Supporting employee onboarding, leave records and personnel-file administration.
Coordinating procurement, office suppliers and administrative service providers.
Tracking corporate, regulatory and contractual deadlines.
Preparing correspondence, reports and supporting documents for senior management.
Maintaining internal registers, approval records and administrative calendars.
Following up outstanding actions and ensuring deadlines are met.
Reviewing and improving internal financial and administrative procedures as the company grows.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone with approximately three to five years of relevant professional experience. Experience with PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG or a comparable professional-services firm would be advantageous, particularly for a candidate seeking to move from audit or advisory into a broader operational role.
The successful candidate should ideally have:
A degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related discipline.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, management reporting and financial controls.
Experience preparing budgets, cash-flow reports and management information.
Progress towards, or completion of, ACCA, ACA, CPA or CMA qualifications.
Excellent written and spoken Arabic and English.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Confidence using accounting, document-management and general business systems.
Experience dealing with auditors, banks and external professional advisers.
The right to work in Jordan.
The ability to work from our office in Amman.
Experience working with multiple companies, currencies or jurisdictions would be beneficial.
Personal qualities
This role requires someone who is:
Highly organised, structured and meticulous.
Financially capable and administratively strong.
Proactive and comfortable taking ownership.
Persistent in following up payments, documents and deadlines.
Discreet when handling financial, commercial and personnel information.
Comfortable working in a growing company where systems are still being developed.
Willing to undertake both senior responsibilities and routine operational work.
Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, advisers and senior management.
Interested in building a function rather than simply inheriting an established one.
Ambitious and potentially open to international relocation as the company expands.
Career development
This position offers meaningful responsibility from the outset and direct exposure to Stratum’s senior leadership. Subject to individual performance and the company’s continued expansion, the role may provide a longer-term pathway to become Head of Finance and Administration, based in Abu Dhabi. The future group role would oversee finance administration, internal controls, reporting coordination and administrative standards across Stratum’s international operations.
Salary and benefits
A competitive salary.
28 days’ paid holiday.
Health insurance.
A contribution towards gym membership.
A structured development pathway.
The opportunity to help build the finance and administration function of a growing international company.
We offer a professional working environment and competitive compensation packages.
We are always interested in hearing from professionals with experience in operations, travel coordination, security and logistics.
